What position do we most need to fill? Who should we get to fill those spots?

What are the odds that Long falls to us? We have, what, the 5th pick?

they pick fifth, but the only team ahead that I think could use long is St. Louis. The thing is they'll need a tacke to replace pace in the future, but they need a defensive linemen now. It's just kind of a coin flip.

if long is gone and matt ryan falls to us at 5 should the chiefs accept phone calls from teams like baltimore, carolina, chicago ect... and trade down?

Absolutely...trade down and take Clady at a lower spot. Clady is still a viable option, just not a great value pick at 5.

what about collins or baker at the start of the second. Quality tackles in the first part of the second. Address Dl or DB with a later first round pick?

I'm going to be honest, I see Collins as a right tackle and I don't like Baker at all. I'd rather have Clady than both of them by a lot. The difference in athleticism is huge there. This draft is also pretty deep in D-Line, so I think we could grab someone worthwhile down there.

outside of the top 5 dts there isnt anything. Clady is better than colins or baker that is a given. I do think that those guys will turn into good tackles. collins could play either and baker has enough athleticism to pull left off.

We pretty much know what's going to happen in the first round (well, not really we know it will be one of four options). What we need to think about is what happens in rounds 2-7, that is where really great franchises build their teams, by plucking quality talent out of the later portions of the draft. I think the chiefs really need to strike gold with another offensive linemen down there plus another wide receiver. Corner is another need position, Law and Sirtain are better suited to a retirement home at this point then a football field and eventually they're going to just be too slow. Oh, and I would absolutely love it if the Chiefs could nab Jordy Nelson somewhere in round three or four. I think he can be an excellent Wes Welker like slot reciever. He may actually have better hands then Welker but I don't think he'll be as good after the catch.

Yea that is what i meant by my earlier post. The later rounds crop of dt's are terrible. there is good late value at de but we have more pressing needs than a third de. I think a corner like jinkins from usf or talib around 14 would be pretty good... (bears hav 14 and need a guy like ryan)

First off, it doesnt matter what they do cause Indy will still beat them. That said, Long will not fall to 5th so the best pick next would be Clady. The Chiefs have put all their eggs in one basket by signing LJ to that deal so they need to beef up their line to protect and block for him

Ugh...don't remind be about the LJ deal. Signing a running back like LJ, or any running back outside of LT is just a bad idea. They break down and you never hear from them again. That contract will be hanging over the Chiefs and probably prevent them from keeping players they really need long term. It just pisses me off how idiotic the front office is in regards to their resources and where they are using them... ...can you tell I didn't like the LJ signing?
